the one true god..that hates you?

one can not go to far in a blog about religion without including the worlds most famous hate mongering, gay basing, psychoticly rambeling, and inscuabley rude and stuid group known as the westboro baptist church.

i dont think of them too often, and when i do, its generally not a good thing. Today has yet to offer any diviance from this. It has been a while since i cheked them out. I was wonder if they were even around anymore, but alas, i was corrected when i visited their website.

oddly enough, you cant seem to actualy gey onto their main site anymore though, all that remains are its many MANY fun filled signs.

These sites include lovely sayings along the lines of "God hates fags", and "God Hates America".

There are more, just go chek them out, you will see what i am talking about.

The reason the intigue me, and the sole reason that i actually keep tabs on them, is that they seem to be the only religion that can back its motions up with actual scripture. Any of the other churches that you can find that actually support the things that westboro is against, they all use the same, "no one is perfect and jesus died for everyone", loop hole. They sue this because they can not actually defend gay people, they do this because they cant really defend anybody.

The christian church is something that has gone far astray. They have left their roots to accept modern circumstances. To any other type of group, i would say that it is a good thing, but they too have their certain pet peves that they will refues to let go of.

They claim their god to be never changing, they claim him to be perfect, and yet they use loopholes to convince you otherwise. God does hate sinners, God does hate Homosexuals.

It can be argued that God Hates nearly everything that you can possibly do aside from worshiping him.

there have been certain cases where he has just hated people, see esau in malachi.

Granted he gave us a way to make him not hate us with the jesus story, but hell, how do you get that? you have to applogise for these things and not do the things god hates! How in the Hell does that sound reasonable!

Thats right, no disbaled people of any kind, no dwarfs, no one with crushed stones, and someone with something superfluous. not sure exactly what that means, but well, if you have superfluous body parts, well you better get rid of them!

There is so very little that god loves, and yet all we hear about is gods love.

Are we really to belive that he is actually a soft touch with a mean poker face?

HELL NO! he means it, thats why he made hell! Atheists have asked how a loving god can make a hell. the answer is obvious, This is not a loving god! SORRY! you can find a more loving god by worshiping odin! atleast when you are killed in valhallah you get to come back and fight again!

that is why i dont understand why people still like this guy. I wonder though, how bad its numbers would drop if people that fell into the catagory that god hates by birth just left.

Dear god..

i am writing this directly to a freind, a close freind with whom i am deeply troubled for, so i will not generalize my audience here, if you read something that does not apply to you, ignore it, or wait until my next post. i post this letter here because it does quite aptly apply to the topic of this little site. i am highlighting exactly why i write this stuff, and why it bothers me so much. thank you for reading it, even though it may seem somewhat odd.

there are alot of people, even as we speak, on their knees talking to what they perceive to be god.

They do this in hopes to change the world and everything in it, and change everything that is wrong with it, knowing that the gods can alter it things some how, and with the simple task of asking, one can recive all, so long as they have faith that god will grant it to them.

The facts of life are few and far between, when we are young we are taught the facts of life regaurding sex, and yet you have manged to even ignore those rules, not that there is anything wrong with this, but my point is that there are very few facts about this life. infact there is only one fact, and that is the fact that we are alive.

We had a conversation the other day, one that actually shook me, and one that actually made me truly understand the depths of how far these things can go. You told me that you were catholic, which i knew, and that you were gay, which i also knew, but you told me that day that you blame god for your circumstances, and that you have come to hate him. Living with hate is not a good feeling, especially when it comes down to being something that god despises. There is no good atributes here for you, you simply believe because you believe, and that if it is true, then the relationship between you and your creator is nothing but hatred.

Hatred is like a virus, one that prevents us from dealing with each other in ways that are beneficial, when we find someone or something that we love that god happens to hate is then immanently poisoned. it is taken to a point that no life can be seen in it. trust me, you may think that you accept it, but the more you accept of it, the more issues will arise, and more hate will come forward.

You asked me what i believed in, and i told you very little, i told you this because i dont follow the same god you do, that is not a god that i would follow. the god you follow, the god that hates you, the god who is simply looking for a reason to smite you for all that he is worth; that is a bad god, and not one that is there.

it is far better to believe that the god you followed is not real than to believe that he hates you.

i know that this is not very convincing, but i do hope that you will take this at least listen to what i am telling you.

you are not a failure, you are not gods little punching bag. You are you! The only you around and if i did not think that you are worth something i would not have even alked to you.The things you have told me that you have gotten through, the times that you wanted to die alone, the times that you almost tried. where was god then? where was he? you got out of it yourself, you did it. no one else. That should say exactly how strong you really are. Ask yourself this, how many of those times would not have happened if it were not for the fact that you thought that even god hated you?

You have been through a lot of shit in your life and i am glad for your sake that in some way at some time god felt close enough to get you through them, but when it is that belief that god hates you is causing to go deeper into the problems then it is time to leave him behind.

If god were there, why did he make something that he hates? If god were there, and he loved you, why did he make you so upset?

why did he and why does he not now help you?

these are the questions that you asked me, now i ask them to you? which is more likely, that he is not there, or that he hates you?

put it this way, how many people do you know of that hate you? i can think of none that i have met, and i know that a lot of people showed up for a party that you threw. sure there are some that may not love you, but there is no one that i know of that wants to hurt you again and again like this supposed god does.

life is a river, and if you don't float down with it, you drown. that is what you are doing, you are ignoring the people who love you, and letting them slip by while you hold on to the only thing you know, God. Trust me, Its scary to let go, but ask yourself, is it really safe to hold on?

its a numbers game.. pt.3

Now, after all is said in done, and all cards left, starting with Pascals wager, we can start off with the actual odds at 1/2.

So, Lets start there.

now many religions of this world. I am not counting localized religions, such as ones that are only active in a village or city and nowhere else, we will not count those, this is for simplicties sake, so if we did add them they would only help bring thte total higher.

there is an estimated 35,000 different gods among these religions, this is not counting the minor gods, or saints in the churches. i dont include the minors gods, for roughly the same reason as my first exclusion. (You will see why i ignored the saints as well in a moment.) Now, for the bible to be true, and to assume that all other gods are false, then this becomes a 1 in 35,000 Aprox.

so, lets calculate the odds thus far.

1/2 * 1/35,000

that is

1/70,000

wow, that is not so good is it? Lets keep talking now, lets really stop to figure this.

if we consider the fact that gods existance is also predicated by the fact that his holy book is true, then we need to examine history, we need to quantify that some how.

Lets start at the basic story of creation. Adam and Eve. There are roughly three to four diferent variations on this story, and only one of them is in the bible, the others are in the quran, and one is in the sumarian texts, there also some gnostic retellings of the story aswell, so we will say four.

so we have this now, either adam and eve were true, and that 1 in four is the correct story.

so we have 1/2 * 1/4

or,

1/8

now lets take the revelation story,

either it will or it will not happen,

so that is another 1in two odds.

and there are 5 different end of the world ideas that i know of, and MANY MANY more that speak of an eternal universe, but i wont try and count them, so now its like this.

so that is a 1/10 odds yes?

either it will or it will not end. and it will or wont end exactly like it says in the bible.

now lets take the jesus story, he too falls into the he either did, or did not exist and again there are three different stories about him aswell, ignoring the blatent contradictions in the bible itself, i will point out the christian. islamic, and jewish stories of him, only one is that he is a messiah.

so 1/2 * 1/3

or 1/6.

so we now we tally these all up, and just going by the illogical method of heare say, we have a 1 in 36,000,000 chance of him being the true god.

that is going by just these stories, we are not even arguing facts here, we have ones that would add multiples of millions to these odds, such as the odds of all of the evidence for history being wrong, all of the odds that evolution did not happen, all of the odds that would say that we are almost completly wrong about the history if isreal, and wrong about our history of egeypt aswell!

these are almost uncountable, and i lack the knowledege and experience to even venture a guess here.

but even going by these few stories, and then placing it along side other competing stories, we have a 1 in 36,000,000.

you have about 1 in 15,890,700 of winning the lottery.

now, do you really think that odds is a fair way to argue for god now?

bear in mind, the odds go up more dramaticly when we have to explain why almost all of science is wrong. this is just the odds that this god is telling the truth about the three basic parts of the bible.

im sure that i will get criticized about this, im sure that some math geek will gladly tell me that i figured this wrong, and i should be shot for trying to think, but all i wanted to do was bring a little thought on just how bad the odds could actually be, because i am tired of being told about pascals wager.

This may come as a surprise to you, but the fact is, is that none of us know all of the asnwers,

Not one of us. WE all Have our own pre designed opinions on things, but what we know for certain is very limited.

It has been argued that anyone who would openly mock religion, and anyone who would argue with its followers may actually be biting the had the feeds them. That we may be wrong, that we dont know who if anyone is upthere, and it may be that vengfule guy that gets so much talk on sundays.

this is something that we cant know, that is until we actually die, and we then experience what happens. so the question is this. Is it wise to disagree on the existance of something that may or may not torture you in hell for eternity?

This was posed to me, and i called it for what it was, it was a play on the thought known as "Pascals Wager". pascals wager in summary is this.

either there is or is not a god.

if there is a god and you belive, then you will be rewarded.

if there is not a god and you believe, nothing will happen.

the same if you dont belive and there is no god.

but if you dont belive, and there is a god, you will recive punishment.

there is a one if four chance that you will get good things, and 1 in four that you get bad.

there is also a 1 in 2 chance that you will get nothing.

so if you belive, you are either wrong, or you are rewarded.

if you dont, then you destroy any chance of the reward, and hope only for nothing as the alternative is punishment.

so the best course of action is to belive as it costs nothing.

well, thats all well and good, there is alot of truth to that, but lets really look at the costs of belief here. The costs of belief are just not as visible in the argument for my taste to be valid.

If you happen to be one of many good people, with a spouce of the oppisite gender with two or three children, then the costs are little more than a prayer or two and a footbal game time to time for church. not to bad i would say! However, what happens if you are single, gay, and have no desire for chuldren, what then? What if almost everything you belive in, and want out of life is considered sinful to the church? Well the cost has gone up now hasnt it.

These costs are rising faster, and faster than the church can possibly catch up to it.

There are costs that require you to understand your own body as a teenager and that is paid in the name of god, so that we develop children who have little understanding of the world of sex.

there are some who dont understand it until they are actually adults! Sad but true, i have met a few.

The costs sky rocket if you happen to be gay. then you are really screwed, you then are forced to find a denomination that will accept you, or get told that what you feel is evil and wrong, or best yet, you can get forsaken by your family.

the costs ad up if you have children. you must take the burden of showing them the path, while you yourself have been marked with a scarlet letter if you happen to have children with the other parent not around you with a marriage license.

There are even churches that still teach that black people are sinful and marked with the mark of cain!, You have to be extra good then so that if you are black you can turn white, or that if you are white, you can have black freinds without turning yourself black in the process.

Then there is the one that we all personaly face, and one that i am not willing to pay or let anyone else pay either. the cost of knowledge, the cost of accepting your religion so that you must choose between hell or things that are verifiable and have evidence. when we have to choose between real education, and bible study, that is the highest price of all.

not only do you sacrafice all the others have, but you also sacrafice your future, you make the decision to acknoledge a higher being over science that continues to help us and save lives.

Stem cell, Evolution, Cryogenics, Cybernetics, nano technology, the list goes on as long as the future makes for us new technologies.

this same kind of cost, but in a different direction, is the cost of chosen morality and religion.

Pascals Wager can be played on any god you describe. So, by choosing a religion, and following it, you are by default denying the other religions. There may even be things that you dont agree with in the religion you chose, and because you cant switch without worrying about the odds going agaisnt you, the price for this is being stuck, following guidelines that you may find wrong, and with this you also sacrafice your freedom..

So, what is the real cost here, what is the real cost of Pascals wager?

only you can decide this, only you can really see this.

as for me, i decided that my freedom was worth more..

as you may have guessed, the notion of me being in a church for anything other than a social function of which i must attend or a pot luck and i have no cash for fast food. i have yet to actually do this, but it has been tempting!

the reason for this should also be obvious, i have a large dislike of religion, and my disliking of religion causes me to feel rather alone at times. rather depressed really! My hatred for anything with murmering and robes with more than two people without a hot tub is pretty much universal.

but why should i feel alone..

the reason i sometimes feel alone is that there are so few of us! i dont know many at all! sure there are some famous atheists, sure there are some that make it big on youtube. but on the whole, there just arent alot of us around by comparison to the majority of the faith filled locals that spend some time talking to themselves each day.

that means that 4 out of 1000, or 1 in 250 is an atheist!

that means that there are only about 1,204,000 atheists in the united states!

for an idea of how few that is, new york city has about 8 million, people!

so all of the atheists in the country could fill up about 1/5th the new york city!

this is how off balance we are..

now take a look at the christian section, thats a whoping 82%

that means that in a room of just 10 people, you will find 8 people who are christian!

in a group of 5, you may find up to 4 people that are christian..

we are talking about 4 in 1000, vs 4 in 5.

now, if you are an atheist, and you saw these stats, you may get a little frightened..

you may stop wondering how such stupid things come around to being, well look no firther than this, you are being controlled dramatically by the leading majorty of zombie worshipers.

The odds are against us, the odds are stacked in their favor. So, with such an advantage, why then do they seem to dislike us disbelievers so much? This is because the other religions are on the rise! oh yes, there is growth in them while on good years the christian church breaks even, and on bad ones they can loose up to %0.06!

we are still talking small numbers, but that means that every year, for every group of 1000 people in it, there is a chance that 6 will be changing religions! Why? this is because the message we give is one that permeates above all others! "be your self!", this is our motto! This is the same message that many growing religions such as Wicca pronunce to the world, and we also say to think for yourselvs as part of it.

there are many religions that serve as a stoping gap between belief and non belief, but that is all they are, a gap, a gap with a bridge that is VERY VERY Wide!

All over the world, the atheist minority rises, and the christian nation that is america is one of its last strong hold. On the world stage, the atheists have about %10 of the world, while %32 christian. All over the world people are abandoning it.

Suddenly i think that i dont feel so alone anymore!

Demonic Possession..

I watched "the exorcisim of emily rose last night. it made me question things. The questions is asked we not the ones some would think one would ask after viewing it. Most begin to question their faith, or begin to give more thought to religious beliefs, not me though. the questions i asked were based more on the trial then the subject matter.

The prosecution's entire case resided in the realm of medical science, while the defense focused on the fact that the beliefs of both Emily and the priest may have been true. Why would this seem odd to me? i could not put my finger on it myself, that is until the end of the movie. the end of the movie has the court offering sympathy to the defendant. Thats when it hit me, there was a sympathetic feeling for this to happen here in the wacko capital of the world, the USA.

the thought however, that if the defense tried to make the case of alternative medicine, they might have won! They might have one if they continued to justify his beliefs, and of personal choice.

In the movie, the preist attempts to tell the story of possession, and one of demons and saints, but if they argued that both emily, and her parents chose to abandon her medication and seek alternative health care, the prosecution would not have a leg to stand on!

You say demons, hes guilty, you say spirtual healing, its Golden!

the real emily rose, Anneliese Michel, was actually in Germany, and the actual trial was held with both the preist, and the parents of the girl on trial. they both got jail time for neglect. The real trial, they supposedly tried this very thing, and it failed misserably, they saw through that rouge.

they saw that the defenses story was little more than a thin veiner.

they viewed it as that the girl was in a state that she could not make her own decisions, and that her decision was not valid as they were illogical and she was in a psychotic state.

All through the ordeal however, she managed to talk, be lucid, and although tired and weak, she was reportedly herself on many occasions, one such period, she managed to speak about how her problem could highlight for the world the reality of demons. during this time, she continued to refuse medical treatment.

If this case was tired in american courts, and all witnesses had simmilar statments on her moments of lucidity, they would have gone far in court, they probably would have carried the defense.

The fact that she was at moments docile, and lucid tells of a girl who could have made her own decisions. Her decisiosn was to simply refuse treatment, so no possible neglect charge could be made.

Its scary to me that this stuff is possible, not the demons and such, but the fact that in theory, a completly self-harmful, psychotic person can deny care, and we would have to respect that.

Lord help us all should we ever be just crazy enough to sound sane, and say something like that.

i dont know if demons exist, i dont know of heaven or hell, but i do know that crzy people exist, and that this type of event can happen to them.

Let's discuss

I was having a slight argument today, this argument picoted on the single concept of creation and resided entirely in the realm of pure unfettered stupid. How doe these arguments end this way? For the same reason they start this way.

Every argument i get into that revolves even remotely about god, that is where the argument goes.

"we should drink a lot of beer."

"no, we should drink water."

"well god made people who made beer, so its a gift from god. So if you do not drink beer then you hate god."

This is how the creationist thinks, when backed into a corner, they get defensive and when they get defensive, they lose all willingness to discuss, and move on to the next person to spill there intellectual pig spit to.

This Particular event that i intended to actually discuss the matter from someone i thought could actually know something, but, alas i have mistaken yet another home song for a deadly siren.

the argument focused on information theory, the idea that DNA is information, and in order for information to exist, a mind must have created it. Sounds logical, that is until you carry it to the next logical step. If we are the product that comes from the plans in our DNA, and that DNA, was designed, the where did that designer come from?

if you are arguing that plans for something are designed by us, and that we ourselves are designed with plans, then where did that designer get the plans that made him?

Is it not logical that any argument that one could make to defy this logic and account for a god would also be applied to us?

if god has always existed, then that simply defies all logic, and again we need an entirely different set of evidence that proves a mind can exist for eternity, and without a physical body. Each step of this chain requires you to take a leap of faith that ultimately requires you to start with god being even capable of existing!

When you try to take a logical argument, and introduce a supernatural entity, you must prove that this thing actually exists before you can even render you argument even valid for debate.

proof of necessity is not applicable if you are merley guessing on what it is that is necessary. That is exactly what the faith they speak of is, a guess. Its also a guess that they are sticking too. Its like saying that there is a magical rock fairy that makes sure that all obsidian stays black. if all obsidian is black then the fairy must exist as well.

I think that what annoys me most of all, the thing that really gets to me, is that these people can engage in such long winded arguments over the most trivial matters in their own theory, provided that you agree that its true and have doubt on small matters, but if its a big matter, such as the whole idea being worthless, well, then the gloves come off. personal insults away!

please people, if you are going to argue, learn how to do it first, otherwise, my head will explode.

i have no problem being proven wrong, but i do have a problem with people who will argue for hours and not say a word worth hearing because they refuse to actualy argue the point.

People of this world need to live life, and learn, and bliond anger, and unwillingness to change your position defy both of these nessessities. If it is something that you are not willing to discuss, then why say it in the first place. If it is not important enough for you to learn about, why argue about it. You may keep your faith, and i will never criticize, but if you do decicde to argue, i am always willing to defend what i know, and i will not cut corners for you to do so.

if you dont want to argue with me, then dont post things that try too, Dont Spam my Email with rants. Dont Fill my inbox with notes that you will pray that god will let me see things the same way as you do. Dont insult my inteligence like this. Dont insult yours either, Know your limitations, and if you dont think you know something well enough to argue about it, dont tell others that they are wrong until you can at least say why you are not wrong.

About once a month, i get these messages, but few have been worth even responding too, and as i just found out today, some of those arent either.

Now, and then..

If there is a point in life, then it has got to be basic happiness, survival by uniting with others like ourselves and doing as little as possible to make others unhappy. Isnt that exactly what religion should teach?

Can anyone name a reason that this would be a bad thing? I highly doubt it. Nevertheless, this basic humanitarian concept is completly lost to the christian nation with others following suit more or less. The idea that we will meet in the clouds, meet with our maker, and be happy for eternity sounds nice, and that the admision to the party is as simple as a prayer is even better. however, the fact that this gift of eternal joy is coupled with the punishment of eternal fire and damnation for those who dont accept damnation.

this is little more than emotinal blackmail, and with alot of churches, with their demand for money, can be taken as a hidden and well covered attempt at extortion. It is a horid idea that a person can go to Hell for simply niot believing that jesus was a miracle worker. It is even more lunacy to say that you need to believe this or god cant forgive you. Why am i not allowed the same privilage of being surprised when we get to heaven? Why am i not allowed to do my best with best and most godlike behavior that i can muster and be pleasntly surprised when i go anywhere?

This threat of absolute surrender is no different than a Gang coming up to some kid, telling them to join, and if he refuses they shoot his house or jump him. Does this behavior sound god like to you? do you honestly think that the god you worship actually care about that? doesnt he want us to be happy and productive?If this is how a god acts, then i hate to think how a demon can act.

The love that is given freely in the bible has long been forgotten, it has gone the way of all precepts of kindnesss that are not forgotten. the kindness and forgivness and the jesus that made mistakes, they were all forsaken and onkly the most arrogant and needy sides of him were left for us to read. The god of the bible is no more kind and loving than hitler, even hitler mention a reason for his blind hatred, something that god has failed to do to this date.

Where is the man that gave the "eight beatitudes"? Where is the man that gives mercy to those who need it? What happened to "whoever is without sin, cast the first stone. The man that taught kindness died on the cross, the man that came out of it, was a man that the world distorted, he became a monster, a vile person filled with a desire for more rage and bloodshed.

the prophecies that have been made of him are of little joy now, they pivot on either endless worship of god, or eternal punishment of you. there is no way that you personaly can win, so there is very little point.modern Christianity is nothing more than a scare tactic, and once that fear is ignored, it holds very little to keep its people satisfied. there is nothing to it, there are no benifits to it, they simply belive it to be true.

the ultimate goal fro a christian is to be a slave, and slavery is the exact oppisite of what the founders of judism wanted. god was their teacher, advisor, and father, and through his direction, if they followed, they were rewarded, they escaped slavery, they developed thier own rules and laws for worshiping, they were starving, but they were free. The god of the old testament was cruel, but he had a purpose, the god of the new testament is just simply a procrastinator of punishment, and jesus is used to avoid that punishment.

this is exactly what is taught, but when put in this light, does it sound like something that he would wanted said of him? would he want people to think of him only as a scape goat to avoid gods wrath? do you think that he wants to be known as a simple tool, or do you think that he would want you to respect the god who created you?would he want you to be happy to be alive and not worry about things like this? ask yourself, how do you want to be remembered?

Well, atleast thats what is was..
now its pretty much another reason to get drunk and have an excuse for waking up in some red headed strangers bed naked. Most would consider this a degradation of what St Patricks day is for. After all, dont we irishmen need a holdiay for our heritage?

This may surprise you, but i dont think we do. Atleast not like that. The last thing we need is to propigate the steryotype of the drunken beef eater. For a real idea of how we should be celibrating, how we should be enjoying eachothers company, we need to go deeper into our history. Our beer and beef fetish, though as accurate as ever, is small compared to our actual history. So, Lets start with a small intercourse with the namesake of this fine day, St Patrick.

No one that can call himself irish has not heard the story of how St Patrick Banished the snakes of ireland. i was thinking of this story today, i was astounded by it, that a man could do that! i asked myself,"How can a man, a preacher none the less, just say Get the Hell Outta Here!", to snakes and have it be effective?
What did the snakes do? did they just say,"Oh, i guess the bipeds dont want us here anymore? Honey, get the luggage, were moving!". Seriously, what happend to them here? The even bigger question is, where did they all go? Ireland is an island! what did they do? rent a boat? noahs ark maybe? Ireland is a Big Island, so in order for it to be a problem, that he would need to banish them there would have to be ALOT of bloody snakes! i mean in the millions! maybe even billions! You could not even have a pet ginny pig! the moment you steped out of the pet shop, a snake would jump up and eat it! So, St Patrick comes along and votes them off the island, and they all buy plane tickets or drown.

Does this story even make sense to you? seriously!, How in the hell can you belive this? My Lord, how stupid can you get! Seriously, if you belive this happend, and st patrick actually did this because of faith, i will come to your house with a cobra and you tell it to leave.

Now, lets look at what is really going on here shall we? From Day one according to the bible we had problems with snakes. What was the snake doing, he was telling god off, and telling adam and eve to do what they want to do! the snake made sure that god could not keep them stupid. he then proceeded to move along about his buisness, being a snake and all. the next thing you hear is, "HOLY SHIT!,Im NAKED!", then you here,"HOLY SHIT,So am I". After this, though not offically recorded in the book itself, you probably heard,"Well, since were both naked already, and I am the only man here,...eve..". Yep, Snakes taught us everything from day one,at least the fun stuff.

Now, back in St Patricks time, the snake were there, and these snakes were SEEMingly less cool then the first one. they bit people for gods sake!Why? because they pass down tradition too, and the first snake got his limbe removed because humans narked him out! thats BullShit!

But, seriously, the snake has been used as a symbol of knowledge since the times of the sumerians, where the actual origin of adam and eve started. the twisted snakes of our medical symbol the Caduceus

Twisting Knoledge of around a phalic symbol, that in this case represents mans body, with angelic wings to promote the idea of honesty and goodness.

The snake on top of the Egyptian King, King tut, his knoledge of the gods, was above him and looking down on all that are beneath him. as he himself was a god, so he had access to ALL knowlege.

and the final piece of the puzzle, two snakes, intertwined, eating each other for eternity.

what could this mean, it is a symbol of our accumulation and eternal thirst for knowledge, no matter how much knowledge we gain, there is still more that is big enough to swallow all that we know.

guess where that last piece comes from? any guesses?

Historical reports show that there is no real reason to believe that there was a snake problem in Ireland. So, If it was not about real snakes, what could that mean? Right again, he wanted to say that symbols of knowledge were bad, he wanted to banish knowledge of this.

Yes Folks, St Patrick wanted us Irishmen to stay stupid, and to calibrate him for doing this, we get drunk and fall into bed with a red headed stranger.

We desperately need to re evaluate what we are celebrating, we need to see the forest through the trees.

Well, i went on a bit of a tirade. So what after this, should we be celebrating? Well, lets just see what else just Happens to fall in the month of march shall we? the day is called, "Ostara".

also know as Ēostre.

If you read that out loud, you will see that it has a striking resemblance to another word that is also a holiday.

Easter. for Ostara, the celtic-drudic people would celebrate the first day of spring, a time that resurrects from death, due to the winter months. This day happens to be the 21st of march, Thats pretty close to the day that Good old Patrick tried to Keep Us Stupid by eliminating the teachers of the area.

(NOTE: there is also no reason to feel ashamed to celibrate ostara by getting drunk and falling into bed with a red headed stranger, as long as you know why you are celibrating, and that you at least bought them a beer first.)

I'm Right! You're Wrong!

We Live in a world that is in no short supply of people that think they have it all figured out. This is especially true for those who are part of the ever changing "spiritualism" motif that pervades our society. It's a common theme among the religious and "spiritual" that the path they study is the right path. In fact, i would venture as so far to say that this idea is the corner stone of the nature of religion.



"He is God, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute; He begets not, nor is He
begotten; And there is none like unto Him. ~"Quran -surah 112

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me.”~Bible-John 14:6

The examples like this are numerous, but you only need to look at the practitioners of the faith to see how prevalent it is in our society. The very act of congregation, the meeting of like minded individuals, this allows them to convene and continue to convince themselves and each other that they are correct. This is its purpose, to keep the believers constantly reassuring each other of things they know would be forgotten otherwise.

If it were not for the concepts that are repeatedly taught, the religions of this world would die. What is the reason for this? because we no longer have a way to make people study their selected moral structure if we don't repeatedly force it down each others throats. Take a moment to ask ANY religious leader, and ask them how fast their particular morals will last if people stopped studying them.

"You Must constantly be in the will of Allahs teachings"
"You must vigilantly seek the face of jesus"
"nirvana is reached with dedication, study creates dedication"

Now, i can probaly guess your biggest complaint with this, you are probably saying that this is true with all things. if we were talking about facts and figures, then you would be correct. Lack of study makes you forget things, but we are talking about moral values, ethical teachings.

When was the last time that you almost killed a person, but stoped because someone read the "Murder 1" statute to you in the last minute? When was the last time you had to verify that stealing an old ladys social security check might be immoral?

You know its illegal, and i am hoping that the majorty of people arent robbing and killing other people only because it will get you in trouble. We dont need constant reminders of how we should behave, we all know how we should behave, but none of us do it. Is this because we dont know better, or that we are simply lazy?

The other Part, and one i too found myself to be interesting are the more relaxed religions, hindusim, neo-paganism, etc.. The ones that claim that faith is personal, and that all roads lead to the same heaven. That Moral philosophy, theology, it all depends on what suits you. This i must confess had me entranced for a while, it gave me hope that a world that still holds blind faith as a good trait, can still manage to converge and make the world better.

the reality is though, that even though they endorse all religions and faiths, they still claim themselves as the best. dont belive me, ask them why they are not christian, or jewish? if all is okay, why did they choose that path? the answer that they will give, if they are honest, is that the path they chose was right for what they hold as true. Even if they endorse religions that claim that it is the sole religion for the world, they ignore that part, because they disagree with some key tenants of all other religions.

All of these people are right, just ask them. They are also all wrong, just ask them about eachother. So we are left with Most of the world, following their own path towards universal truths, and yet each universal truth that each religion teaches is no more universal then AA batteries. it fits in alot of places, but there are just points that its not the best fit. So we have all of these truth seekers, going in their own seperate directions.

It is overwhelmingly true that most people seem to want to find this out on some level, but with all of these directions, how can we find the actual truths of this universe, if there are any? That is where faith needs to end and logic needs to begin. we need to constantly try to negate what we know now, not struggle with all of our strength to hold on to ideas that no longer help us.

First Post...

   There are a number of things that bother me, some very little, some with a breadth and depth of which only the greatest of oceans can compare. They bother me, but not that they are there, but how that it seems as though i am the only one that sees them. you may have guessed from the title that i talk about religion, but if you have guessed that i am in agreement with any particular group, you may be very disapointed. The reason for your disapointment is that the things that bother me are not inherited by the partaking in century old rites, or the open disaproval of things that argue with you, but it stems from the passing of these things on to the next generation, telling them to be open minded, while being sure to seal them up nice and tight.


 There is very little in the world that i hold convincing enough to disuade me from believing that the human race is in all good faith, well..good. Its just that that constant struggle for everything good in our lives spills over, and when it does, it starts making bad things, those bad things become..you guessed it, the things that bother me.


  To anyone who may of some sick way actualy find me interesting, or happen to be related to me in some way that you feel obligated to sit through my drunken sounding sober writings, i applaud you, hey ho..
